Pus for Cell Type / Cell Count একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ laboratory diagnostic test, যা শরীরের কোনো সংক্রমিত স্থান থেকে সংগ্রহ করা pus sample-এ থাকা কোষের ধরন (cell type) এবং মোট কোষের সংখ্যা (cell count) নির্ণয় করতে সাহায্য করে।

What is Pus?

Pus হলো একটি ঘন তরল যা সাধারণত সংক্রমিত স্থানে তৈরি হয়। এতে থাকে—

• Dead white blood cells (WBCs)

• Bacteria বা অন্যান্য microorganisms

• Tissue debris

• Inflammatory cells

পুঁজ হওয়া মানেই শরীরে infection বা inflammation চলছে—এটা ইমিউন সিস্টেমের একটি প্রতিক্রিয়া।

What is Cell Type & Cell Count?

Cell type বলতে বোঝায় pus-এ কোন ধরনের কোষ বেশি আছে, যেমন—

• Neutrophils → Acute bacterial infection

• Lymphocytes → Chronic infection বা TB-related infection

• Eosinophils → Allergic or parasitic causes

• Macrophages → Chronic inflammatory process

🔹 Cell Count

Cell count বলতে বোঝায়—

• প্রতি cubic millimeter-এ মোট কোষের সংখ্যা

• Infection-এর severity বা তীব্রতা বোঝা যায়

Why is Pus for Cell Type / Cell Count Test Done?

এই পরীক্ষাটি করা হয় সংক্রমণের প্রকৃতি ও মাত্রা বোঝার জন্য।
ডাক্তাররা এই test recommend করেন যখন—

• Abscess বা ফোঁড়া আছে

• Non-healing wound

• Surgical site infection

• Chronic pus discharge

• Fever with localized swelling

• Pain, redness, or warmth at a specific site

Conditions Where This Test is Useful

এই test সাধারণত নিচের অবস্থাগুলিতে করা হয়—

• Skin & soft tissue infection

• Post-operative wound infection

• Dental abscess

• Ear discharge (chronic otitis)

• Bone infection (osteomyelitis suspicion)

• Deep-seated abscess

Sample Collection Procedure

1. Doctor বা trained technician দ্বারা sterile technique-এ pus সংগ্রহ করা হয়

2. Syringe বা swab ব্যবহার করা হতে পারে

3. Sample immediately laboratory-তে পাঠানো হয়

4. Microscope-এ smear তৈরি করা হয়

5. Cell type ও cell count analysis করা হয়

6. Pathologist report প্রস্তুত করেন

Interpretation of Results

Suggests acute bacterial infection

• Antibiotic therapy দরকার হতে পারে
