HB ELECTROPHORESIS(HPLC)

Hb Electrophoresis (HPLC) হলো একটি specialized blood test যা hemoglobin types এবং variants নির্ধারণ করে। Hemoglobin আমাদের red blood cells-এ oxygen বহন করে। কখনও কখনও genetic variations বা mutations এর কারণে abnormal hemoglobin তৈরি হয়, যা anemia বা inherited blood disorders সৃষ্টি করতে পারে।

Hemoglobin Electrophoresis বিশেষ করে এই অবস্থায় করা হয়:

• Thalassemia (α বা β) detect করার জন্য

• Sickle Cell Disease শনাক্ত করার জন্য

• Unexplained anemia বা low hemoglobin হলে

• Family screening বা genetic counseling এর জন্য

HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) technique ব্যবহার করে hemoglobin variants যেমন HbA, HbA2, HbF, HbS, HbC নির্ণয় করা হয়। এটি traditional electrophoresis-এর তুলনায় বেশি accurate, faster, এবং quantitative।

Procedure:
রোগীর blood sample নেওয়া হয়। Lab-এ HPLC machine ব্যবহার করে hemoglobin separate করা হয় এবং প্রতিটি type-এর quantitative analysis করা হয়। Result থেকে doctor বুঝতে পারেন hemoglobin disorder আছে কি না এবং severity কতটা।
