Peripheral Blood Smear (PBS) Test | ব্লাড সেল পরীক্ষা

Peripheral Smear Test হলো একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ blood investigation যেখানে microscope দিয়ে রক্তের কোষগুলো (RBC, WBC, Platelet) বিস্তারিতভাবে পরীক্ষা করা হয়। এই টেস্টের মাধ্যমে ডাক্তাররা রক্তের গঠন, কোষের আকার-আকৃতি এবং অস্বাভাবিকতা নির্ণয় করতে পারেন।

যদি আপনার রক্তস্বল্পতা (anemia), সংক্রমণ, জ্বর, অস্বাভাবিক CBC রিপোর্ট, বা সন্দেহজনক ব্লাড ডিজঅর্ডার থাকে—তাহলে Peripheral Smear Test খুবই প্রয়োজনীয়।

What is Peripheral Smear?

Peripheral Blood Smear (PBS) হলো এমন একটি টেস্ট যেখানে রক্তের একটি পাতলা স্তর স্লাইডে ছড়িয়ে stain করে microscope দিয়ে দেখা হয়।
This test helps doctors to examine:

• Red Blood Cells (RBC morphology)

• White Blood Cells (WBC differential)

• Platelet count & structure

এটি সাধারণ CBC রিপোর্টের চেয়ে বেশি বিস্তারিত তথ্য দেয়।

কেন Peripheral Smear Test করা হয়?

Doctors usually recommend this test when:

• Anemia সন্দেহ হলে

• Unexplained fever থাকলে

• Infection বা viral illness থাকলে

• Platelet কম হলে

• Leukemia বা blood cancer সন্দেহ হলে

• Malaria parasite detection করতে

Especially যদি CBC রিপোর্ট abnormal আসে, তখন Peripheral Smear diagnosis confirm করতে সাহায্য করে।

কী কী বিষয় দেখা হয়?

1️⃣ RBC (Red Blood Cells)

• Microcytic / Macrocytic anemia

• Iron deficiency

• Vitamin B12 deficiency

• Sickle cell anemia

• Thalassemia

2️⃣ WBC (White Blood Cells)

• Infection (bacterial / viral)

• Leukemia

• Inflammatory disorders

3️⃣ Platelets

• Low platelet (Thrombocytopenia)

• High platelet (Thrombocytosis)

Peripheral Smear Test কিভাবে করা হয়?

• একটি সাধারণ blood sample নেওয়া হয়

• Laboratory technician slide প্রস্তুত করেন

• Special stain ব্যবহার করা হয়

• Pathologist microscope দিয়ে পরীক্ষা করেন

Test completely safe এবং খুব অল্প সময় লাগে।

Test Preparation (প্রস্তুতি)

✔ Fasting প্রয়োজন হয় না
✔ Regular medicines চালু রাখা যায় (unless doctor says otherwise)
✔ রিপোর্ট সাধারণত ১ দিনের মধ্যে পাওয়া যায়

কারা এই টেস্ট করবেন?

আপনার যদি থাকে:

• বারবার জ্বর

• দুর্বলতা বা ফ্যাকাশে ভাব

• Platelet কম

• Unexplained weight loss

• Persistent infection

তাহলে অবশ্যই একজন Medicine Specialist বা Pathologist-এর পরামর্শ নিন।
