FREE T3

Free T3 (FT3) হলো একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ thyroid hormone test যা রক্তে সক্রিয় T3 হরমোনের মাত্রা নির্ণয় করে। Thyroid gland আমাদের শরীরের metabolism, energy level, heart rate, body temperature এবং weight control-এর উপর সরাসরি প্রভাব ফেলে। তাই Free T3 test থাইরয়েড সমস্যার সঠিক মূল্যায়নে অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

🔬 What is Free T3?

T3 (Triiodothyronine) হলো thyroid gland থেকে উৎপন্ন একটি hormone। এর দুটি অংশ থাকে:

• Bound T3 (protein-এর সঙ্গে যুক্ত)

• Free T3 (শরীরে সক্রিয় অংশ)

👉 Free T3 হলো সেই অংশ যা সরাসরি শরীরের কোষে কাজ করে।

সাধারণত:

🔹 2.0 – 4.4 pg/mL (Lab অনুযায়ী সামান্য ভিন্ন হতে পারে)

রিপোর্ট সবসময় lab reference range অনুযায়ী interpret করতে হবে।

🩺 Why is Free T3 Test Done?

Free T3 test করা হয় যখন:

• Hyperthyroidism সন্দেহ হয়

• Hypothyroidism মূল্যায়ন করা হয়

• TSH abnormal থাকে

• Thyroid treatment monitoring করা হয়

• Thyroid nodule বা goiter থাকলে

ডাক্তার সাধারণত TSH + Free T3 + Free T4 একসাথে করাতে বলেন।

⚠️ When Free T3 is High (Hyperthyroidism)

Free T3 বেশি হলে হতে পারে:

• Rapid heartbeat (হৃদস্পন্দন বেড়ে যাওয়া)

• Weight loss

• Excess sweating

• Anxiety বা irritability

• Hand tremor

• Irregular periods

Common causes:

• Graves’ disease

• Thyroiditis

• Toxic thyroid nodule

⚠️ When Free T3 is Low (Hypothyroidism)

Free T3 কম হলে হতে পারে:

• Weight gain

• Fatigue (অতিরিক্ত ক্লান্তি)

• Hair fall

• Cold intolerance

• Depression

• Slow heart rate

Common causes:

• Hashimoto’s thyroiditis

• Iodine deficiency

• After thyroid surgery

• Simple blood test

• Fasting সাধারণত প্রয়োজন নেই

• Morning sample preferable

• Thyroid medicine খেলে ডাক্তারকে জানানো জরুরি

📌 Important Note

Free T3 একা দেখে সিদ্ধান্ত নেওয়া ঠিক নয়। সবসময় TSH ও Free T4-এর সঙ্গে মিলিয়ে evaluation করা হয়। তাই রিপোর্ট নিয়ে self-diagnosis না করে endocrinologist বা physician-এর পরামর্শ নিন।
