Wound Swab for Culture & Sensitivity পরীক্ষা মূলত infected wounds থেকে bacteria বা fungi শনাক্ত করার জন্য করা হয়। এই পরীক্ষায় দেখা হয় কোন antibiotic বা antifungal ওষুধ সেই organism এর প্রতি সংবেদনশীল।
যদি রোগীর wound ধীরে ধীরে সুস্থ না হয়, pus বা unusual discharge থাকে, swelling বা redness দেখা দেয়, ডাক্তার এই পরীক্ষা সুপারিশ করতে পারেন। Culture & Sensitivity পরীক্ষার মাধ্যমে সঠিক ওষুধ নির্বাচন করা যায়, যাতে দ্রুত এবং কার্যকরী চিকিৎসা সম্ভব হয়।
Procedure: ডাক্তার sterile swab ব্যবহার করে wound থেকে sample সংগ্রহ করেন। ল্যাবরেটরিতে sample culture করা হয়। Pathogen শনাক্ত করা হলে তার drug sensitivity পরীক্ষা করা হয়।
Note: Home collection সাধারণত প্রস্তাবিত নয়, কারণ sterile technique ও proper transport condition প্রয়োজন।
